If I had to rank my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles, it honestly says a lot about how good the vegan scene is there—because narrowing it down is not easy. But there are definitely a few spots I always find myself thinking about (and planning to go back to).
At the very top of my list is Crossroads Kitchen. This place just gets everything right. It has that elevated, upscale vibe without feeling stiff, and the food is incredible. It’s fully plant-based, but you would never guess it from the menu. Think refined Italian-inspired dishes, pastas, share plates, and cocktails that feel like a full dining experience. The ambiance alone makes it worth it, but the food is what keeps me coming back—it’s easily my favorite vegan restaurant in LA.
Right behind it is Planta. I’ve been to multiple locations over time, and it’s consistently one of the most reliable vegan restaurant groups I’ve tried. The menu is creative, the presentation is beautiful, and it always feels like a treat. Their avocado pressed sushi is still my absolute must-order—melty, rich, and honestly unforgettable. It’s the kind of place you can bring anyone to, vegan or not, and they’ll leave impressed.
In third place is Sugar Taco. This spot is fun, casual, and full of personality. It’s vegan Mexican food with a playful twist—tacos, nachos, loaded plates, and bright flavors that feel perfect for a relaxed meal. It’s not overly fancy, but that’s the charm. It’s more of a vibe spot where you go with friends, grab a few things, and just enjoy the atmosphere.
For breakfast, Chaumont Bakery is a must. It’s one of those places where everything feels fresh, cozy, and perfect for a slow morning. I always think of it as my go-to breakfast stop in Beverly Hills—coffee, pastries, and that easy, laid-back energy that makes you want to sit a little longer than planned.
A couple of honorable mentions that are seriously worth checking out:
Pura Vita is a fully vegan Italian restaurant that leans more toward rustic comfort food—think pizzas, pastas, and hearty dishes with really good flavor and a warm, neighborhood feel.
And then there’s El Cocinero, which is one of those spots you really have to plan for. The line starts before they even open, which tells you everything you need to know. It’s popular for a reason, and the energy alone makes it feel like part of the experience.
Even with all these amazing places, I always notice myself circling back to Crossroads the most. It just hits every time—food, vibe, service, everything. But LA’s vegan scene is so strong that I know I still have a lot more to explore next time I’m there… even if I keep ending up at my favorites again.
